PURPOSE:To improve double feed detecting capacity by detecting and comparing the transmitted quantity of light being irradiated about the center of a paper money. CONSTITUTION:Above the vicinity of the suction head side end of a paper money stopper 5, a light emitting element 9 for detecting a doubled rolling-in is provided and this light emitting element 9 is equipped with a hood 10. At the opposite position of the light emitting element 9 across a rotating cylinder 2, a light receiving element 11 is provided and it detects the quantity of light emitted from the light emitting element 9 and passed through a paper money. The light emitting element 9 and the light receiving element 11 are arranged in such positions that they may catch a moment that a paper money 12 to be detected has been deformed and has constantly kept definite distances and angles to the light emitting and receiving elements 9, 11 and also the light passage is not intercepted by the preceding and following paper moneys 13, 14. |
