The unmanned assistance post has a telephone for requesting aid and safety devices operated when a call is put out, to illuminate the post, to provide a visual signal and an audible alert and to open doors automatically. An automatic answering device is connected to the telephone, with the control system actuating the safety devices also acting the answering device, in response to the assistance call being made, e.g. via a relay electromagnetically supplied via the telephone line. Pref. these control devices use a main relay controlling a contactor relay, with its contacts allowing the voltage to be supplied to the safety devices and the answering device. The main relay controls the contactor relay sequentially via a repetition device.
