The ski boot consists of a rigid shell (1) and an supple inner boot (2). There are grooves (3,4) in the inner boot in the parts which come into contact with the zones of the feet where there are the main blood vessels and nerves. One contoured groove (3) passes over the instep from the lower tendon of the front leg muscle to the head of the second metatarsal. The other right angled groove (4) extends from the middle part of the Achilles tendon, passing behind and under the inner ankle bone, to the front of the ankle. The width of the grooves are between 5 and 10 mm.
|
