CONTINUOUS CASTING METHOD OF AL AND AL ALLOY

PURPOSE:To evenly fine the cast structure and prevent casting crack by specifying the conditions of continuously adding Al-Ti-B-base alloy during transferring of molten Al or Al alloy to the casting machine. CONSTITUTION:Molten Al or Al alloy 8 in a holding furnace 1 is supplied to a tundish 3 through a spout 2. During the transferring of the molten metal 8 by the spout 2 before it enters the tundish 3, Al-Ti-B-base alloy is continuously added in the form of wire or rod in a suitable position 9 under the conditions of satisfying formula I. Next, the fined Al or Al alloy of stabilized structure is immediately fed into the mold formed by the outside circumferential concave groove of the casting ring 5 and metal belt 6 of the continuous casting machine from the tundish 3 through the spout 4.
