<p>Transformer, esp. a line transformer for TV receivers, consists of two U-shaped cores which are assembled to an annular core and are bonded together at the two butt joints. The adhesive for the first butt joint has a long hardening time and a high ultimate strength, independent of temperature and humidity. It is preferably a two-component adhesive with a curing time of 24 hrs., such as 'Araldite' (RTM). The second butt joint is bonded by an adhesive with a short hardening time (2 min.) and an ultimate strength which may have a falling trend in time; this is pref. a cyan-acrylate adhesive such as 'Sicomet' (RTM). This combines the conflicting demands of fast curing time and high long-term strength; it is less expensive than butt strap and screw joints.</p> |
