<p>Hollow bodies run lengthways along the inner wall of a rotating drum in which a hot asphalt mixture is prepared from old road surfacing material. The hollow bodies act as scoops helping to turn over the content of the drum, and hot gases from a heating plant are led through the hollow bodies, whilst the asphalt mixt. formed collects in the spaces between them. The drum is slightly inclined to the horizontal with a feed for the old material at one end and a drain at the other. Arrangement provides a compact, relatively easily transported installation for handling old road surfacing material, in which the transfer of heat is much more efficient. There is no risk of the passage being blocked, and the inside of the drum can be easily inspected and cleaned.</p> |
