The variable resistor consists of a circular carrying plate (1) made of a bakelised paper or other insulating material, to which a circular resistance element (2) is fixed by rivets or crimping. The resistance elements itself (2) is formed from a carrier of bakelised paper and has either a linear or non-linear resistance curve and solder tags (3) at either end with an intermediate tag at a tapping point. Inside the resistance element (2)is a circular collector (4) of metal attached to the carrier plate (1). This collector (4) also has a solder tag (5) and is connected electrically to the resistance element (2) by a sliding spring contact (8). The resistance can be altered by means of the spindle (7) and can be used for tuning capacitance diodes for digital or analogue displays.
