The connecting element (2) consists of a plate with edges turned over to form guide slots. The middle part (5) of the plate has a window (7) with a height corresponding to the width of the straps. Along the guide slots a pin (8) is slidably fitted with a loop (9) of back strap (3) around its surface. The strap (3) enters and leaves the buckle through the window (7) and the loose end (10) of the strap (3) is sewn to the strap. In front of the window (7) another pin (11) is fitted with one straight end resting in the guide slot while the other end is turned in a U-shape penetrating the guide slot at a given point and returning through an opening. The extended end of the U-shape has a spring keeping the straight end pressed against the slot.
