RECOVERY OF VANADIUM, MOLYBDENUM AND GALLIUM FROM ALUMINATE LIQUORS

A single stage process is used in which the lye is subjected to electrolysis at over 70 deg.C and with a cathode current density of 400-1200 A/sq.m. The cathode is a liq. alloy with a low m.pt., and is mechanically stirred during the electrolysis. The lye needs no prior treatment such as the removal of impurities or cooling, but can be directly electrolysed. No chemicals are required.
