The metering mechanism is for a concrete batching plant, where mineral additives from a store are delivered into a skip acting as a weighing, hoist and loading vessel. All the necessary metering connections (23) are incorporates in a separate prefabricated metering box (3), mounted as a complete unit on the feed mechanism and with its rear (35) and underside held open. Its front (31) and side (33,34) walls towards the storage vessels have inlet openings, opened and shut directly by ram-operated plates (23).
