Conductive plastics pick=up adaptor - is fitted to record player tone arm to conduct electrostatic charge from record to chassis

The metal tone-arm of a record player carries an adaptor to which the pick-up cartridge is attached. The adaptor is made of electrically-conducting plastics with a resistivity in the range 1 to 100 ohm-cm. Electrostatic charge, picked up by the stylus from the record, is conducted to the record player chassis through the adaptor and the tone-arm.
