An inner stop sealing unit is used. It is sited between a screen frame and a wing frame, and/or central sealing, together with outer sealing, to make up a sealing provision for a window or french door. The outer sealing unit is located only in the lower transverse area between the screening frame (1) and the wing frame (2). The outer sealing unit is also in the form of a stop seal (11). A high degree of resistance to penetration by driving rain is afforded, with min. complexity involved in the sealing system. The window or door may still be easily opened and closed.
