Tetrahydro-2H-2-pyrannyl methanol esters of formula (I) are new, where R1 and R2 are independently H, halogen, NO2, CN, 1-4C alkyl or alkoxy opt. substd. by one or more halogens; R3 is 1-4C alkyl. Used as selective pre-and post emergence herbicides, esp. useful in combatting Apera spica venti, Echinochloa crus-galli, Alopecurus myosuroides, Avena fatua and Agrostis alba in crops of soya, cotton, carrots, potatoes, lucerne, turnsole, sugar beet or flax. |
