The appts. is esp. for producing a blend of coal and oil. The rotating screw conveyor (3), in the mill (2) has a vertical axis. Large particles of the solid fuel are fed into the mill which is filled with the liq. The solid fuel is ground down and the mixture overflows into a hopper. Part of the mixture can be recirculated through a vertical pipe (7) by a pump (8), and the remainder passes to a settling tank (6) where any large particles will gravitate through the pipe (9) and be returned to the mill via the pump. The blended fuels discharge from the top of the tank (6). |
