<p>The equipment is used when finished printed circuit cards have to be modified but time does not permit the design and mfr. of a new one, e.g. when circuit changes are found necessary during tests on a complete installation. The equipment eliminates hand work on circuit cards and thus reduces the risk of accidental incorrect cuts or damage to other circuit components. A work bench has a circuit mounting base with coordinate adjustment for exact positioning of the card under a fixed milling head. With the card in the correct position the miller, which has automatic depth control, is brought down manually to make the required cut. A soldering head is similarly in a fixed mounting. It is manually actuated to solder the new wire or connection into position with a preset pressure and time cycle. There is no solder feed and thus no risk of any surplus metal causing short circuits. Numerical controls can be added to the coordinate table for automatic positioning of the circuit card.</p> |
