<p>A nonaqueous electrochemical cell comprising a metal anode, a cathode-electrolyte comprising a solute dissolved in a liquid active cathode, such as oxyhalide, and a cathode collector.</p><p>Cells of this kind are limited in their performance at high current densities. According to the invention the high current density discharge rate is improved by using a porous carbonaceous cathode collector containing a metal oxide catalyst. In a voltage versus time plot cells according to the invention (1; 2) show superior behavior over cells (3, 4) without metal oxide in the cathode collector.</p> |
