PURPOSE:To reduce the generation of NOx, etc., removing uneven combustion state in a vortex chamber, by installing a spherical member in the center part of the turbulence chamber with a support member projected from the turbulence chamberwall face, which spherical part is made of a heat-resistant material in a determined volume. CONSTITUTION:In the center part C of a turbulence chamber 1, there is provided a spherical part 4a of a heat-resistant material and of a determined volume as the front end of a glow plug 4 installed on a cylinder head 5. The air compressed there flows from a main combustion chamber into the turbulence chamber 1 and has a high temperature and high pressure, at which time fuel is injected from a fuel injection nozzle 3 to produce a turbulence of the gas mixture of the fuel fine particles and air in the turbulence chamber 1. As the center part C of the turbulence chamber 1 has the spherical part 4a of the determined volume, the gas mixture cannot be in the center part C while flowing in a turbulence around there to set fire and make combustion. This keeps down NOx generation because there is not produced a section having a high combustion temperature in the turbulence chamber 1.
