The plate fixed to the underside of a roof is relatively large and rectangular with a layer of insulating material on the side towards the roof, and slats or ribs running parallel to the lengthwise edges at the same intervals as the rafters. These slats or ribs (11) are directly fixed to the plate (10), while the insulating layer comprises a number of components (12) fitting together and over the slats or ribs, being pref. glued to the plate. On the top, these components have integral ribs (13) or recesses from which the roofing tiles are suspended.
