PURPOSE:To manufacture a thin metal plate having well-grown crystal grains by a procedure in which a molten iron metal is processed into a thin plate by rollers rotating at a high speed, and then the metal plate is subjected to at least one time- heat treatment, e.g., decarbonization annealing, alpha-iron conversion annealing, etc., at a temperature above the temperature of recrystallization. CONSTITUTION:The molten iron metal 1 is continuously sprayed onto the single roller 2 or between two rollers 4, rotating at a high speed by means of the pressure of an inert gas, e.g., Ar gas, etc., for cooling and rolling at the same time in order to obtain the thin metal plate 3 or 5. The thin metal plate is subjected to alpha-iron conversion annealing at a temperature above the temperature of recrystallization and a skin pass rolling, followed by a recrystallization annealing, or to a decarbonization annealing, alpha-iron conversion annealing, and a skin pass rolling, followed by a recrystallization annealing. Thus, the application of at least one-time heat treatment at a temperature above the temperature of recrystallization to the thin metal plate enables one to obtain a thin metal plate having a well-developed crystal grain and excellent magnetic characteristics. |
