The burner particularly for metallurgical equipment consists of two concentric tubes. The inner tube is connected to the fuel supply and the outer tube supplies the oxygen. The ends of the two tubes are conical and the inner surfaces are parallel. The gas exit velocity is limited to 3/8 - 3/4 of the sonic velocity of the gas. The outer tube is enclosed in an outer cylinder which extends beyond the end of the burner. The angle of slope of the tube ends is specified.
