<p>The operation monitor detects the geographical position of each crane, together with the momentary operating parameters relating to the position of the jib (3,4), the height of the grab etc. These parameters are used to calculate the angular position of the jib (3,4) projected onto a horizontal plane, with the determined values compared with stored reference values, to provide a control or alarm signal if a collision is likely. Pref. the free end of each jib (3,4) moves around a circular path (C1,C2), each jib (3,4) having a chariot (9,10) from which the crane cable carrying the grab is suspended. These two circles overlap with the alarm signal provided if both jibs (3,4) move into the zone of overlap, when other alarm conditions relating to the height of the jibs (3,4) and the position of each carriage (9,10) are satisfied.</p> |
