The hearth is provided in its bottom part, which forms a curb support (6), with a heating-air inlet. A crossmember (8) on which the hood is supported is set forwards of the upper component of the hearth (3), leaving a space (9) between the upper element and the crossmember. A deflector (5) is fitted with an anti-backdraft device (10) and a soot guard (11). A refractory glass door (23) forms a spark screen. <IMAGE>
