Slip ring design for mass production - with copper rings brazed to wires laid in moulded core

The slip ring described is suitable for mass production. It consists of two rings held in place on an insulating cuff and connecting wires brazed to the rings. Cavities are cut into the cuff under each ring and joined with one face of it by channels to carry the connecting wires. The slip rings are keyed with the cuff and pressed on to it. The wires are brazed to the inside of the slio rings, the brazing at least partially filling the cavities. The insulating core is moulded to the desired shape and the copper slip rings are sleeved over it as a cylinder. After local brazing the assembly is turned to cut the cylinder into rings.
