Petroleum bitumen-based compsns. - contg. natural asphaltite and petroleum extract mixt., useful for prodn. of asphalt concrete

Bituminous compsns. comprise (a) 50-70 wt.% petroleum bitumen, (b) 20-30 wt.% natural asphaltite ("ash asphaltite") and (c) 10-20 wt.% of a mixt. of extracts obtd. by solvent extraction of petroleum distillates and residue, e.g. with phenol. Pref. component (b) has a softening point of =240 degrees C, an ash content of =25 wt.% and a moisture content of =15 wt.%; the organic phase comprises 60-65% asphaltenes, 20-25% resins and 10-20% oils. Component (c) is pref. a 1:1 mixt. of extracts derived from distillates and residue, has a density of 0-96-0.99 (pref. 0.9745-0.9808) g/cc, a 100 degrees C viscosity of 10-60 (pref. 31.64-31.97) cS, a coking factor of 1.76-2.39%, and an S content of 1.0-3.0%.
