PURPOSE:To prevent a roller from being wound up by paper and, to achieve improvement of quality and performance of the roller, by constructing at least its surface layer of a rubber composition having fixed volumetric specific resistance. CONSTITUTION:NBR having efficient printing ink resistance is suitable as a rubber composition of 1X10<6>OMEGA.cm in volumetric specific resistance to be used. A composition so prepared as to have fixed volumetric specific resistance by blending (a) fluorine antistatic agent or (b) conductive powder of carbon black, metal powder, etc., with blend rubber of blending the NBR by vinyl chloride resin, fluororubber, etc., as a base is suitable. Respective components above mentioned are blended with an ordinary mixer such as a mixing roll or a Bandury mixer etc. They are sheet wound or coated by extrusion with an extruder on a roller core axis which is blasted and is degreased by washing and if necessary, to which a rubber layer of low hardness is provided. Then, they are vulcanized. After vulcanization, a platen roller is manufactured by grinding and polishing the surface of the roller. |
