<p>Centrifugal drying machine comprises a vertical cylindrical bowl and a sensing finger inside the bowl to control infeed of material at a predetermined layer thickness. Vertical sparge pipe inside the bowl sprays wash water on to the layer of material lining the wall of the bowl. Sparge pipe is now secured to a movable mounting. Mounting is mechanically linked to the sensing finger or to its supporting bracket. Linkage is such that the position of the sparge pipe is related to thickness of the layer of material sensed by the finger. Sensing finger support bracket and the sparge pipe mounting are pref. both pivoted about parallel, vertical axes and linked by a connecting rod. The connecting linkage is pref. adjustable. Centrifugal dryer is partic. for use in the sugar industry for draining massecuite and crystals. Also used for drying crystals in the chemical industry. Sparge pipe provides uniform washing of the prod. inside the bowl no matter what thickness of layer has been preset. If the sensing figure is adjusted, the sparge pipe is correspondingly reset.</p> |
