High security multi-bolt lock - uses key with two non-aligned radial webs subtending angle of e.g. two hundred degrees

The high security multi-bolt lock uses a key (2) with two radial webs (1,3). Pref. the webs subtend an angle of 185 to 200 degrees in the direction of positive key rotation. Further key strength may be obtained by tapering one web (1) at 3 to 10 degrees to a reduced root thickss, the other web (3) being of uniform thickness. The faces driving the lock mechanism may be rationalised by aligning primary slide (42) guide spindles (6) on the vertical through the key (2) axis. The spindles are fixed to the housing and locate in vertical slot holes (43) in a slide, the slot holes aligning with the zone (44) of key contact.
