PRODUCTION OF COLOR FILTER

PURPOSE:To improve image quality by printing color ink on a base material, then pressing a heated mold material having an ink-repulsive surface to the printed film, thereby flattening the printing surface. CONSTITUTION:The printed film 6 of the color ink is formed on the base material 5 and the roller-shaped mold material 8 which has the smooth surface coated with the ink-repulsive material 7 is pressed onto said film. A heater 9 is provided in the material 8 to heat the surface of the mold material. The projecting parts of the printed film 6 are crushed when the film 6 is pressed by the material 8. Furthermore, the viscosity is lowered and the flowability is increased by the heating, by which the printed film is smoothed and leveled so as to conform to the surface of the mold material. A dye element film 10 having a specified pattern size and specified film thickness is thus formed without having ruggedness. The adequate display is thus enabled without generating various densities in the image.
