The invention concerns an internal combustion engine with turbocompound system designed as a hybrid drive. The aim is to economize resources by using ceramic components, while reducing absorption of lubricant and cooling heat. To this end, two radially disposed, centrally supplied rotary stroke-type combustion chambers (6) which operate in pair and are activated by self-ignition are assembled in a cylinder. Each combustion chamber performs two working cycles per revolution according to the two-stroke process. On this principle, continuous combustion takes place. The use of ceramic in the combustion chamber makes it possible to use alcoholic mixed fuels with a low cetane number. Accordingly, very low emission values can be expected. The gas evolved is passed into chambers with blades (15) and used to generate a torque by the expansion principle. The slide valves, which rotate in synchronization with the cylinder, release the gas and convey it to compound stages where the gas increases the torque generated in function of the temperature drop. |
