A light receiving lens for a light activated television remote control system is disclosed. The lens has flat parallel sides, flat divergent top and bottom surfaces, and a front surface of a modified cylindrical shape to provide a wide horizontal acceptance angle and a narrow vertical acceptance angle. A photodetector is located within the lens opposite the cylindrical surface. The top, bottom and sides may be coated with a reflective coating which is also electrically conductive to provide electrostatic shielding for the photodetector. |
