A paper container comprises a hollow body portion with a thermoplastic synthetic resin layer as the innermost layer thereof, one longitudinal end of the material blank from which it is made having been skived to substantially half its thickness for a predetermined width, a longitudinal groove formed substantially at the centre of the skived portion, and the skived portion having been folded about the groove and adhered to itself; the body portion being formed by adhering both longitudinal ends of the blank together in overlapping relation with the folded longitudinal end inside the other longitudinal end.
