PURPOSE:To obtain the titled soap having excellent gelation ability to a high-boiling organic solvent and animal or vegetable oil, by the reaction of an aqueous solution of an alkali metal salt of a specific organic acid mixture containing a specific amount of 2-ethylhexonic acid with an aqueous solution of an inorganic acid salt of aluminum. CONSTITUTION:Aluminum soap is obtained by the reaction of an aqueous solution of an alkali metal salt of an organic acid mixture which is obtained by mixing 2-9pts.wt. of 2-ethylhexonic acid with 1pt.wt. of a 12-22C long-chain saturated/ unsaturated organic acid, e.g. lauric acid, myristic acid plalmitic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid, behenic acid, etc., or cycloparaffinic acids, or their mixture, with an aqueous solution of an inorganic acid salt of aluminum. Since said soap forms clear gel with a high-boiling solvent and animal or vegetable oil, does not cause syneresis, and has extremely stable viscosity and very high gelation ability, it is useful as the titled soap. |
