<p>An electric current is induced in several coils by using gamma rays to modulate a magnetic field created by an electro- or permanent- magnet. A source of gamma rays is glued onto a non-magnetic tube (7) located in a ring gap provided by the coils, and tube (7) is fixed to a non-magnetic disk keyed onto the shaft of a small electric motor, so the tube can be rotated in the ring gap. The pref. generator consists of a laminated ring cup (1) supporting an induction coil (6) wound on a laminated core (2). Inside cup (1) is a circular row of induction coils (5), and tube (7) rotates in the ring air gap between core (2) and coils (5). By choosing a gamma-ray source with a very long half life, a quasi-perpetual source of electrical energy can be otbd.</p> |
