<p>PURPOSE:To remove the unburnt carbon in a slurry white has adsorbed SO2 gas selectively by a method wherein a weir, a valve and an overflow pipe connected to a defoamer are installed near an upper liquid surface of an oxidizing tower, and rising unburnt carbon is separated. CONSTITUTION:A contacting device for gas and liquid is constructed in such a manner that an overflow pipe is mounted near the surface of the liquid in an oxidizing device using a gas containing atomized oxygen in order to recover sulfite as a by-product. For example, the slurry containing approximately 5wt% calcium sulfite from the discharged gas desulfurizing device is supplied from a liquid inlet 6. Oxidizing air 3 is fed from a feed pipe 4, dispersed into the slurry atomized by means of a revolving body 2, contacted with the calcium sulfite in the slurry, and changed into CaSO4, and the CaSO4 is discharged from a discharging port 7. Unburnt carbon rising with bubbles is introduced to a defoamer 10 through the overflow pipe 8 and a valve 9, and separated from the slurry and removed.</p> |
