PURPOSE:To enhance the reliability of a glass-sealed electronic device by attracting foreign materials such as metallic pieces in space within a glass container to the inner wall of the container by static electricity when sealing the container with glass to fix the foreign material to the softened inner wall of the container so as to eliminate the affect of foreign material thereto such as short, malfunction. CONSTITUTION:A semiconductor pellet 1 such as a diode is interposed between two lead wires 2 grounded, and is coated with a glass tube 3. When an electrode 7 connected to a high voltage DC power supply 6 is approached to a glass tube 3, the glass tube is charged to attract foreign materials 5 being conductive such as metallic pieces, pellet chips in space within the glass tube to the inner wall of the glass tube by static electricity. When vibration is imparted from the lead wire to the glass tube, its attracting effect is increased. When the glass tube is heated and softened by a heater 8, and sealed and cooled, the foreign materials are fixed in the inner wall of the glass tube with solidified glass. In this manner, it can eliminate the short or malfunction due to the foreign materials after shipment with the glass- sealed diode or the like. |
