<p>The device comprises a cylinder head support carried by the frame (1) of the grinding machine, which can be moved in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the grinding spindle for self-centring between the latter and the valve guide A double oscillation about two orthogonal axes (28,29) is imparted to the cylinder head, with sensors (23,24) measuring the parallelism errors between the axis of the grinding spindle and a peg introduced into the valve seat. These measured errors are used to provide position corrections to obtain parallelism with the cylinder head then locked in position. The position correction circuit may comprise amplifiers coupled to two pairs of sensors and to a display panel which indicates the required corrections from front to back and left to right.</p> |
