<p>A moulded cap for sealing the mouth of an externally threaded bottle is moulded with an integral security lip with several internal teeth having a shallow internal chamfer leading to a face undercut at about 45 deg. The lip is connected to the cap by several radial ribs having a radial thickness less than their peripheral width. The cap is sealed by an annular pad of relatively soft material located beneath the crown of the cap. Suitable for sealing bottles contg. carbonated drinks, can accommodate typical variations in neck dimensions or surface finish. The steep upper face on the security lip causes the pendant bridges to break when the closure is removed.</p> |
