PURPOSE:To provide high-grade image receiving paper of high image quality for thermal transfer recording excellent in ink transfer properties, reproducibility, fixing properties, resolving power or image sharpness, generating no transfer irregularity or missing dots, excellent not only in high speed recording but also in paper aptitude for full-color recording and also having printing paper aptitude. CONSTITUTION:In image receiving paper for thermal transfer recording wherein an image receiving layer receiving hot-melt ink is provided on a base material by coating or impregnating base paper with an aqueous coating solution, 6-20wt.% of porous pigment with apparent specific gravity of 0.10-0.50g/cm<3> is added to the base paper and the initial contact angle theta of the surface of the base paper to water is set to 75-120 deg.. |
