Electrically driven boiler system with hydraulic coupler - uses cooperating driven and static finned discs to heat oil

The system converts electrical energy into mechanical and calorific energy. The hydraulic coupler transforms the mechanical energy into calorific energy for a boiler coupled in a central heating circuit, with the coupler driven via an electric motor. Two thermostats, each associated with a thermometer and a remote controlled switch are also included. Pref. the hydraulic coupler comprises a finned static disc and a finned rotary disc driven by the electric motor, with the two discs enclosed by a casing filled with oil. This oil is heated by the turbulence and friction caused by the rotation of the driven disc to a temp. of about 250 deg. C. The coupler casing is surrounded by an outer boiler casing through which the water to be heated is circulated. Pref. the rotation is transmitted to the coupler disc via a pulley and belt drive, the motor rotating at 3000 revs. per minute and the coupler disc rotated at 500 revs. per minute.
