PURPOSE:To obtain the titled photographic element capable of forming a color diffusion transferred image on an improved white ground without lowering the maximum density of the dye image by adding a specified org. optical brightener to form an image receiving layer. CONSTITUTION:To an image receiving layer is added an org. optical brightener represented by formula I [where each of X1 and X2 is methyl, 2-hydroxyethyl or 2-hydroxypropyl, X1 and X2 may be united to form a morpholine ring; each of Y1 and Y2 is H, methyl, 2-hydroxyethyl, 2-hydroxypropyl or 2-sulfoethyl, Y1 and Y2 may be united to form a morpholine ring, yet Y1 and Y2 are not H simultaneously; Z is halogen or -O-A (A is 1-4C alkyl); and M is H, K or Na], e.g., the compound of formula II. An amount of about 0.05-5, preferably 0.1-3mg per 100cm<2> of the layer is appropriate for the compound. |
