PURPOSE:To accelerate the deflection of printing charged drops, prevent the aggregation of ink drops and increase the printing accuracy by inserting an insulating plate between a recording head and a deflecting electrode and providing a charge electrode shielded at its periphery with an insulating material or a shielding plate. CONSTITUTION:A charge electrode 3 is shielded by insulating materials 10 and 11 and a shielding plate 12 to prevent the dischargeing between the charge electrode 3 and deflecting electrodes 4 and 4', and to make it possible to provide both electrodes at positions close to each other. The deflection of printing charged drops charged through the hole 9 of an insulating plate 8 is accelerated, and charging of non- charged drops due to the influence of the deflection voltage can be prevented. By rendering the deflecting electrode 4 into a minus high potential and the deflecting electrode 4' into a ground potential, an accelerating force is acted on the printing charged drops and a decelerating force on the noncharged drops thereby to prevent the aggregation of the ink drops. |
