<p>PURPOSE:To enable to produce a high output in a low-medium speed range of engine operation, by controlling the opening of two valves provided in the first and the second by-pass passages, respectively, in respones to various information representing the operational condition of an internal combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:When an internal combustion engine is operated at a low-medium speed with a load higher than a predetermined level, valves 18, 19 are closed at positions shown by solid lines in the drawing and therefore engine is operated in its supercharged state. However, when the load becomes lower than a certain level (for instance, zero) in the state that engine is operated at a predetermined low- medium speed, valves 18, 19 are turned to positions shown by two-dot chain lines shown in the drawing, in response to the output signal of control means 26, so that engine operation is switched to non-supercharged mode. Further, when the engine speed is raised above the predetermined low-medium speed range, valves 18, 19 that have been located at positions shown by the solid lines are turned to positions shown by the two-dot chain lines, so that engine operation is also switched to its non-supercharged mode if the engine load is lower than a predetermined lower limit.</p> |
