PURPOSE:A polyethylene composition for preparing a water pipe without attack by tap water even in use for a long time, obtained by incorporating a specific amount of polybutene-1 resin into a polyethylene resin. CONSTITUTION:An individual low-, intermediate- or high-density polyethylene having a density of 0.914-0.970 or their mixture is incorporated with 0.5wt% or more of highly isotactic polybutene-1 resin, having an ultrahigh molecular weight, and consisting of butene-1. alone. Air bubbles in water due to the chlorine in tap water are prevented, and trouble of surface flaking and peeling caused by continuous air bubbles can be eliminated. |
