PURPOSE:To remove focussed electron beams from the arbitrary position on a two- dimensional plane by arranging linear hot cathodes, focussing, control, and fetching electrodes so as to have the X-Y matrix control function. CONSTITUTION:A linear hot cathode 1 is hung at the center of each two adjacent electrodes of a number of parallel focussing electrodes 3, and a number of electron beam control electrodes 6 and the fetching electrodes 4 are disposed at a right angle with the linear hot cathode 1. The heating power supply V1 and the cathode drive circuit 7 are connected to each linear hot cathode 1 and the negative and pulse signal generator 8 through the bias power supply V4 to the control electrodes 6, respectively. Accordingly, the electron beams are discharged only from the place where the linear hot cathode 1 in which negative pulses are applied at the drive circuit 7 and the control electrodes 6 in which positive pulses are applied by the pulse signal generator intersect. As a result, uniform electron beams with high current density can be obtained from the arbitrary position. |
