PURPOSE:To enhance recording characteristics such as mechanical aptitude, printability or image extension and contraction by forming a support by laminating transparent paper with a predetermined basis wt. and predetermined opacity to both surfaces of a polyester film with predetermined thickness and setting the smoothness, opacity and longitudinal rigidity of a thermal recording sheet using the support to predetermined values. CONSTITUTION:A support constituting a thermal recording sheet is constituted of paper formed by laminating transparent paper with a basis wt. of 30g/m<2> or less and opacity due to JIS PG 138 of 30% or less to both surfaces of a transparent polyester film with a thickness of 9-25mum. The smoothness due to JIS P 8119 of a thermal recording sheet using the support is set to 500sec or more and the opacity thereof is set to 30-60% and the longitudinal rigidity thereof is set to 35 or less as a Clark value due to JIS P 8143. When the basis wt. of the transparent paper is 30g/m<2> or more, the paper laminated to the polyester film becomes thick and the flexibility of the paper is lost and the close adhesiveness with diazo paper at the time of blue printing is lowered. |
