<p>Used to effect the precision cutting of e.g. ceramic tiles under diverse site conditions, the portable tool completely fractures tiles of varying thickness, utilising a demountable filiform deck (922) to support the two pieces of the subject tile over their entire length. Fracture is effected by a pincer mechanism (911,912) requiring the use of one hand, the trigger arm (911) being pinned (930) to a guide sleeve (913) for a slidable rail (920). The rail (920) locates a cutting wheel (182) on a handled runner (910), its end being pinned (356) to an extendable (918) leg (917). A sec. rectangular section rail (921) with a knife edge is also pinned to the leg (917), being sited below the prim. rail (920), and extending to traverse a passage through the fixed pincer arm (912). A sec. pins (929) connects the arms (911,912), and pairs of holes (924) in rail (921) locate 'U' shaped bars (922) forming the deck.</p> |
