Discharge proportioning silo closure - with slider covering plastic sealed grating openings

A discharge-proportioning closure for a silo slides over a grating, formed by parallel flat steel bars across the opening. Each bar carries on top a strip of elastic material, pref. polyethylene, which is fixed to it by countersunk head screws. These strips stand out on both sides and are bent upward by a channel pressed against them from below. The gaps left between the grating are covered by a slider consisting of a frame with parallel flat straps and operated by a power cylinder. Such a closure ensures a good seal even for fine-grained bulk material and can be used as discharge rate regulator.
