The airport cargo transporter comprises a driver cab (2) and power unit arranged on one side of the vehicle and a load deck which is accessible from the ends and is provided with drivable (11) and freely rotatable rollers (8) to support and move the load. The front and rear ends of the deck are provided with recesses (18) capable of engagement with corresponding projections of loading platforms and the like during transfer of cargo. Driven rollers (11), rotating about transverse axes, are preferably arranged between the recesses. At least the recessed front and rear ends of the deck may be vertically adjustable.
