<p>In order to save space, one of the tape guides of this tape transport mechanism is in the form of a rubber roller which pinches the tape against the capstan when the cassette is loaded. The loading mechanism moves the capstan and the rubber roller guide towards each other. The capstan (23) is moved towards the rubber roller (39) of the lower tape guide (39) as the cassette is loaded. The tape guides (38,39) which are coaxially above each other are moved forward by the loading mechanism which is operated by the pinion (59) and rack (56,57). In the end position the tape (16) is wrapped round the head (35) by the guides.</p> |
