Weft straightener for textile piece goods - has two bowed cylinders adjusted by servo motors controlled by monitors

Two bowed cylinders which can be adjusted diagonally and in their mode of rotation relatively to each other, are supported in bearings, in a weft straightening machine for textile piece goods. Pref. the bowed cylinders are secured by the ends of their curved shafts to universal joints. They are fixed at one end and are axially displaceable at the other. Pref. the bowed cylinders each have a universal joint supported by the nut of a guide screw. The second universal joint is fixed to the driving shaft of a displaceable gear box which is arranged on the nut of the second guide screw. The displaceable gear boxes of both curved cylinders are supported on vertical driving shafts which are connected by toothed wheels and a chain drive to a servo motor. The shafts are connected by the gear boxes to the driving shafts between the gear boxes and the universal joints. The guide screws of each cylinder are connected by chain wheels and chains to each other as well as to the servo motor. Provides a weft straightening machine for positioning in front of a stenter, dryer or other finishing machine. The machine is relatively cheap, and takes up very little room. It straightens both obliquely distorted as well as curved weft threads, and its response is much quicker than that of known machines, since the monitors can be positioned closer to the working details.
